Embark on an epic guided self-drive 4×4 tour into the heart of Africa, you will be mesmerised by the stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and rich culture that eastern Zambia has to offer.
On this guided self-drive overland tour we travel deep into the wilderness visiting South Luangwa, North Luangwa, Luambe and Lusifa National Parks. Throughout the tour, we will camp at unfenced camps, making this a truly authentic wilderness experience.
We explore the bush on foot while accompanied by a local scout and our knowledgeable guides, plus go on game drives in search of elephants, lions, leopards, and hippo plus animals unique to Luangwa such as the graceful Thornicroft’s giraffes and Cookson’s wildebeest.
You will also have the opportunity to visit local villages and learn about the history and traditions of the beautiful people who call Zambia home.
This tour is the ultimate vehicle-based overland exploration tour into one of the last true wilderness areas of Africa.

What you'll love about the Wild Zambia tour
The Laungwa Valley is home to over 60 species of mammals and 450 species of birds.
Some distinctive species include the remarkable Crawshay’s zebra, Cookson’s wildebeest, and a geographically isolated population of Luangwa giraffe also known as Thornicroft’s giraffe.
All campsites are unfenced allowing for true wildlife encounters where you connect with nature rather than just being a spectator of it.
The journey to North Luangwa National Park involves numerous river crossings due to the natural topography of the region. The landscape features a network of rivers, streams, and waterways that intersect the route adding an exciting touch to our expedition.
On our journey we visit three national parks situated in the Eastern province of Zambia.
From immersive guided nature walks and captivating night drives in the South Luangwa National Park to enriching visits to the local community and informative sessions with Conservation South Luangwa, there’s an adventure waiting at every turn.
